Hello, my little ducklings. Welcome back to another installment of human interaction recorded for your pleasure.

I am reading the Legend of Korra this week, because I felt the need for gay in my life. She’s a great character. So far, I’ve finished Turf Wars and am starting Ruins of Empire. Delightful. Asami is even growing on me, though she was a bit of a cold fish to start off with. She’s definitely got her moments. And, of course, since she’s an engineer, I feel a strong sense of loyalty to support her. Engineers capable of any sort of reasonable social interaction are rare and should be rewarded.

Joke:

What do engineers use for birth control?

Their personalities.

Oh dear. This would be funnier if it wasn’t so true…

In other news, a major oil and gas firm fired me yesterday, so I am in the enviable position of not having to work for the devil anymore. Sweet, sweet release. As much as I enjoy being insulted, marginalized, and an instrument of environmental destruction for the benefit of a juggernaut of corporate profit, as of Monday, I’m off the hook. Whoo hoo!

I’m a very lucky bot today. In the event that my firm fires me, I will definitely be mountain biking the Continental Divide and writing torrid romances about nerdy people making poor life choices. It’s sort of my thing. As long as I don’t get eaten by a mountain lion. I’m also afraid of the dark. Is there anyone out there up for a ninety day journey through the backwoods of the continental US and Canada armed with only a bicycle and a pocket knife? All interested applicants, please send me a note. It would be tremendously beneficial if you were a cute, sporty girl as well. Just saying.
