Happy Friday, duckies!
Sweet, sweet freedom comes calling. I have NEWS!
Before you get excited, no, it’s not about the space program, though I did complete all my assessments and turn them in like a good little soldier.
No, Sun on Snow is in rewrites this weekend and can be finalized as early as Monday! Whoo hoo! Which is good. I’m getting kind of sick of it. I’ve been thinking about another story for a while and, frankly, after my organic dissolved our association, the whole vibe of the book shifted to something more story, less romance, and less funny. I think it still came out well, but I’m done with it. There’s nothing else I can give. So! Anyway! I will leave the draft up on Google until I complete all the mysterious and arcane rewrites/edits and then, like Lazarus, it shall arise, new-minted and glowing in the sun…
LADY-BONER BOOK
Cue trumpets
I haven’t been able to find a lot of lady-boner books, so I will make this humble offering to the great spaghetti monster in the sky, in the hopes that it is worthy of his favor.
Also, I’m reading the Book of Mormon this week, because evidently I hate myself and I don’t have enough to do working full time, writing a book, and going to EMT class at night. Oh, wait, is this time people use for sex and families and stuff? Yeah. No wonder I’ve got so much of it. Weird.
Anyway, it [Book of Mormon] sounds super fake. And the historical inaccuracies/inconsistencies are a bit of a buzz kill. It sounds like a bad writer tried to use the Bible as a base, but wasn’t creative enough to come up with its own stories, just new names, and didn’t really believe the stuff he was writing anyway. I should know. I’ve failed to do my appropriate level of background research and world-building for a shitty story that I lost interest in twenty minutes after writing it, so I feel like Joe Smith and me have some stuff in common.
Read that out of a hat with some magic stones, didja? That’s cool. I want to write an isekai story about an environmental engineer who gets transported into a dungeons and dragons game as a druid. Seems about the same to me. Go forth. Do great things. God has a plan for us all.
