DND Episode 10
The group makes their way out of the lab, for real this time. As they try to depart the University, they see that someone has strapped Izzt style bombs to the columns of the entrance way. Lyle is able to diffuse them, but Siork takes one to the Astral plane and it blows up in a kaleidoscope of pretty colors that stains him and his clothes a demented rainbow until he prestidigitates himself clean again, but takes no damage. A little shocking to the psyche. Everyone else runs away. As they try to get back to the Undercity and the Golgari guild hall, they notice that there is a riot going on. The Izzt neighborhood seems to be struck with the same violence and brutality that the Azorius were going through and the same fine fuzz is everywhere, growing up through the cobblestones, on buildings, misting in the air. People are getting stupid and aggressive, bigoted and manipulated, just like everywhere else. The adventurers put on their masks and quickly take to the sewers. Over the next several days, they travel through the remnants of the Undercity until they come across some goblins - paranoid and weird - and a Gruul warparty. They defeat a couple angry fighters, a rogue druid, and a giant.
When they make it back to Pleurotus Hall, they find a pinecone with a message in Druidic from the Star Eyed. With some magic, they activate it and it seems to be a homing beacon to Jarad and the Golgari. The team follows it. It takes them several weeks to navigate the maze of the UnderCity, but Manus’s magic comes back in force and he’s able to halve the time of their journey and skillfully guide them straight to the heart of the Grove - where the seed of the World Tree came from and the place suspected to be the final hold out of the Golgari. They make a deal with the Star Eyed to restore the soul of Euphraia back into the world tree and free her from the spike, but in order to do this, Manus has to give up his staff with the last memories of his wife to the Orzhov.
I forgot to update this reasonably close to the time we actually ran the game, so it’s a little out of order. Let me know if details need to be detailed or corrected, but we ended just as the party arrived at the Grove, ready to try and find Jarad and Co.
